During the uncertain times of COVID-19, it is very heart-warming to see stories about people showing appreciation to other people. Someone recently shared an article with us about a family in the US who made care packages to give out to truck drivers at a truck stop. This, we believe, is kind of kindness is we need more of today.
Doctors, nurses and hospital staff are working on the front lines to mitigate the effects and to help stop the spread of the virus. Police officers continue to patrol the streets to ensure the safety of our citizens and firefighters are remaining prepared to take calls during an emergency. Although less obviously involved but still an essential component of our relief efforts are the truck drivers that keep our stores supplied and distribution center workers who keep the supply chain functioning.
The simple fact that someone took time out of their day to show appreciation to our unsung heroes makes a big difference during a time when people feel fear. What this family did had a lasting effect on the truck driver in the article and nearly brought him to tears.
On behalf of our team, we’d like to thank all of our unsung heroes for continuing to work hard during this time of need.
