Making Support More Accessible
Workplace wellness matters because it impacts how people feel and how they work. When employees feel supported, they tend to be more focused, collaborate more easily, and are better able to sustain strong performance without burning out.
At ATS Containers, we try to approach wellbeing in ways that are realistic and accessible. That starts with the basics: respectful communication, clear expectations, and the ability to reset when work gets busy. We also look for simple, optional supports that help employees fit wellness into their day without adding extra friction.
On-Site Gym
One example is our on-site gym, which has been part of our workplace since moving into our newly built facility. As our team grows and needs evolve, we continue to improve the space with practical additions. The latest is the Spirit XT685 treadmill, supplied and installed by Fitness Nutrition, a Québec-based retailer specializing in cardio and strength equipment.
The XT685 is built for comfort and durability, with a 4 HP motor and 3-inch rollers designed for a smooth, consistent feel. It also offers a spacious 22 in × 60 in running surface and an incline up to 15 percent, making it easy to adjust intensity for everything from a steady walk to a more challenging workout. Having a treadmill on-site provides a convenient way to prioritize health during personal time, whether that’s a midday reset at lunch or a full workout before or after the workday.
Supporting Employee Wellbeing Beyond the Gym
Beyond the gym, we try to take a thoughtful approach to everyday workplace habits that support wellbeing. Healthy snacks are available throughout the week, and once a month the team gathers for a shared breakfast, creating a simple opportunity to connect outside of day-to-day tasks. From time to time, we also bring in a massage therapist to help employees relieve tension and recover from physical strain. Our dog-friendly office adds another small layer to the environment, where the presence of a colleague’s dog can offer a quick moment of calm or a mental reset during the day. None of these initiatives are large on their own, but together they help create a workplace where wellbeing is considered as part of the daily experience.
Collaboration with BougeBouge
This year, in line with the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals, we are proud to collaborate with BougeBouge to support a shared vision of active communities and lasting well-being. Several ATS Containers employees will also be taking part in the BougeBouge Mont-Royal 2026 race.
Workplace culture is shifting, and employee wellness is increasingly at the forefront of that evolution. More organizations are recognizing that wellbeing is not a nice-to-have or a trend. It’s a core part of how sustainable teams are built. When wellness is supported in practical, accessible ways, employees are better positioned to do meaningful work and maintain balance over the long term. In the same way a business invests in tools, training, and safe environments to perform at a high level, investing in employee wellbeing is essential to help both people and the business thrive.
