What Is a 40ft Container Rental?
A 40ft container rental is a steel storage unit 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 8 feet 6 inches tall, delivered to your site and rented by the month. It gives you roughly 300 square feet of lockable, weatherproof floor at ground level, about twice the capacity of a 20ft for a single delivery.
It’s the size to rent when you’re storing long materials, bulky equipment, or the volume that would otherwise take two units and two placements.

Standard or high cube? While we offer both, the 40ft High Cube is by far our most popular rental option. It gives you a full extra foot of interior height, adding about 300 cubic feet of volume on the exact same footprint, and a taller door opening for easier forklift access. Choose the High Cube if you are stacking pallets, storing tall equipment, or fitting the unit out as a workspace. The standard 40ft is best if you strictly need floor-level storage or have overhead clearance limits on your site.
For scale, a 40ft container holds about 20 standard pallets on the floor, three to four vehicles, or the full inventory and equipment of a mid-sized operation.

Delivery and Site Requirements for a 40ft
A 40ft requires more space than a 20ft. Before you book, verify your site has:
- At least 110 feet of straight, level approach: The truck needs this distance to safely tilt and slide the unit off
- About 18 feet of overhead clearance: Measured at the placement point
- Roughly 14 feet of width: Enough clearance for the truck and the unit
- Firm ground with good drainage: Gravel, compacted dirt or asphalt
