Refrigerated shipping containers, also known as reefers, are climate controlled shipping containers. They are equipped with refrigeration units to maintain set temperatures ranging from -40°C to +30°C. This capability makes them suitable for temperature controlled storage including commercial inventory, perishable goods, seasonal products, emergency supplies, etc.
Refrigerated shipping containers, also known as reefer containers, are climate controlled shipping containers. Reefers are built with the intent of transporting temperature sensitive items worldwide and are built to food grade standard. Refrigerated sea cans have a refrigeration unit attached to the front end of the container. This refrigeration unit can be plugged into electrical power sources on cargo ships, rail or truck and maintain a set temperature of heating or cooling based on demand & ambient conditions. Their aluminum exterior allows for better climate retention and stainless-steel interiors are easy to sanitize compared to a traditional sea can.
These units are ideal for cold storage of perishable and non-perishable products such as food, seasonal inventory, electronic equipment, medicine, etc. in a hygienic environment. Reefers are secure, reliable and much more economical when compared to renting, expanding or building a cold storage facility.
ATS carries an extensive inventory of used refrigerated containers for sale or new refrigerated containers for sale. Used reefer containers undergo a rigorous pre trip inspection by an independent third party. The refrigeration unit is fully functional based on 460Volt, 15KVA electrical power that can hold a temperature range between -25°C to +25°C.
We also carry 20ft new reefer containers or 40ft new reefer containers. New refrigerated containers include more powerful refrigeration units that can maintain a broader temperature range from -40°C to +35°C. They also include enhanced security & functionality features such as a panic alarm with exterior siren & strobe light, interior aluminum scuff liner, automatic drains, safety door, interior lights, etc. as well as enhanced reliability and extended useful life when compared to used reefer containers.
